COVID-19: WHAT AM I DOING?
I have tried to ensure that as High Sheriff, and as the manufacturer of Dr Brown’s Hand Sanitiser as well as other personal protection equipment, I can provide as much help as possible by donating equipment for the safety of the nurses, doctors, police and other first responders.
Although I haven’t had much chance to wear my full High Sheriff uniform yet, I have tried to ensure that the continuity of the Office is recognised, and that the carers, service providers and front liners know I am there as High Sheriff in their time of need.
We at BCB International have dedicated our Llanelli factory to making high-strength Dr Brown’s Hand Sanitiser with 80% alcohol, which kills all viruses including COVID-19. Working on shifts around the clock, we are working to support the country’s heroes in the NHS, police, fire and rescue services and defence forces as they fight the killer disease. We have hired an extra 50 staff to deliver and manufacture the potentially lifesaving product. We are stronger together. Our priority is to protect the protectors and the new front line during this pandemic.
BCB Supplies Ventilator Bags to the NHS
As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the demand for oxygen transportation has increased given the number of COVID-19. To help the NHS BCB International has started manufacturing oxygen transportation bags. Our MD, Andrew Howell dropped them off to an NHS facility in South Wales earlier this week.
Since March we have visited charities, hospices, and local businesses all around Cardiff. I am donating boxes of hand sanitiser and masks once a week. Here are a few of my donations below. More can be found in the image gallery.
We visited Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice to deliver face masks and our Dr Brown’s Extra Strength Hand Sanitiser. We are pleased Ty Hafan can put our BCB product to use in the service they provide to sick and vulnerable children.

We visited HM Prison Cardiff and donated Personal Protective Equipment for staff and prison officers. I also visited an NHS facility in Cardiff to thank staff and frontline workers for their continued efforts in battling COVID-19.
We called in to Velindre Cancer Centre on to donate a supply of Dr Brown’s Extra Strength Hand Sanitiser to support staff and patients in our battle against COVID-19. Our aim at BCB International is to keep supporting the frontlines. Our Velindre donation is going straight to the hard-working nurses.
We visited Roath Emergency Station to donate a supply of Dr Brown’s Extra Strength Hand Sanitiser and Personal Protection Packs. The donation will help keep firefighters and paramedics based at the Station safe throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
W called in to the Hollies Special School in Pentwyn to donate a supply of Dr Brown’s Extra Strength Hand Sanitiser. The Hollies School is staying open to continue to support and teach the children. Our donation to The Hollies is going straight to the hard-working members of staff, and is our way of saying thank you for all that they do.
I am supporting the Indigenous Community of Guyana during COVID-19. Last week a donation of BCB Internationals Masks arrived in Guyana. As high sheriff, my duties don't just stop at the borders of South Glamorgan. I am trying to help as many as possible keep safe.
